Red Midnight
An interesting piece that was inspired by a dream. The next day, flashing continually in my Mind’s Eye was this gorgeous shade of red. I kept envisioning a red sky at night and it consumed my thoughts. I knew I had* to paint “Red” that day! I went to the art supply store and found, in creamy, luscious Oils, that EXACT shade of red that was in my dream (Cadmium Red Medium). Once on the canvas, the color did not disappoint. It is saturated, rich and flattering in all lights (or flickering candlelight!). So much so, that it makes my mouth water just staring at it! It looks like it would taste wonderful, but please, don’t eat it!) Cherries Jubilee, anyone?! ;)
